From Ningin: In most American high schools, May is the time to bust out the yearbooks, go to prom and maybe say your final goodbyes. Everything done this month has to be memorable. It’s no different at Mixr High. Only, we’re not saying goodbye to you — nor are we an actual high school. We’re also probably won’t go to prom with you if you ask us. (We’ll sign your yearbooks though.) We just want you to have a Memorable May with Mixr. More »

From Wirebot: Every Friday Wirebot will give away a game over Twitter or Facebook. Participating to win a game is simple. All you need to do is follow us on Twitter to retweet what we tell you, and/or fan us on Facebook. More »

From Girlybubble: When it comes to options for decorating my new Nintendo DS Lite, my head spins. Literally. There’s the deco option — deco is the Japanese word for decorating things with a glue gun. There’s also stickers, skins, charms and you can even swap the original stylus for something that’s cuter. Currently, I’m considering the deco option but of course, that involves a glue gun: More »

In 2009, overall video game sales revenues declined from by $1.1 billion down to $9.9 billion total, but Apple’s share quintupled from 1% to 5%. In the portable gaming breakdown (where it really matters to Apple), Apple’s surge is even more dramatic: from 5% in 2008 to 19% last year. More »

From Ningin: For most of us here, this week has been epic for the release of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII. I’m not even much of a gamer and I know this much. I also know that despite the title, FF XIII is more fantasy than it is final. This week we’d like to make your fantasy come true by giving away a copy of Final Fantasy XIII. More »

Only Germans (maybe the Japanese too) would conceive of this: a wedding invitation in the format of a video game. Niko Losse and Darina Goldin are tying the knot on May 21st, but before invitees can attend the ceremony, they have to battle through a Super Mario and Donkey Kong style 8-bit game. More »

I’m going to wholeheartedly admit that I did, at one time, play Farmville. But that’s not all. I’ve played many of the extremely addicting games that are available on popular social networking sites like Facebook. A year ago, games like these didn’t even exist, and now it seems that they’re beginning to pop up all over the place! More »

Microsoft sent a letter for all Xbox live users today that it will be discontinuing the service for all orginal Xbox games. That’s right…Halo 2 will be disconnected from Xbox Live. The change is set to take place on April 15th. More »

From Girlybubble: Sadly, I’m not an owner of a PSP but the PSP-3000 Sweet Limited Package, has got me wanting one in the worst way. The package is a collaboration between Sony and American fashion designer Jill Stuart. The bundle features a Blossom Pink-colored PSP-3000, a 4GB memory stick, a Jill Stuart cloth and a Jill Stuart-branded PSP carrying case. For the fashionista in me, this is one sweet deal. More »

From Wirebot:

I have sat back and watched the Console Wars go on for quite a long time. Not just the nextgen Console Wars but wars that erupted ever since there became more than one system on the scene. Fanboys and Fangirls might be offended by this article because I won’t be giving their specific system of choice the tender loving care it deserves. I could drag on for hours and hours about which system does what and weigh the checks and balances and formulate an opinion on what system you should buy based off of those findings but I’m not going to. What I’m going to do is try to open everyone’s eyes to something I discovered a long time ago. More »

As I was walking out of the mail room yesterday, having just received my long awaited package, a friend of mine asks what I had gotten. I candidly replied that it was a Nintendo DS Lite. She rolled her eyes and replied, “Aren’t you a little old for video games?” Later that night, I thought about it. Can you ever be too old for video games? More »

The Hong Kong International Airport is certainly pulling out all the stops. No surprises here, though, because the “赤鱲角機場,” as the locals call it, is ranked as one of the top airports in the world. More »

We’ve all seen the plants from the Mario brothers games that snap at the characters and drain their life within seconds. Well, its time for some of these fictional plants to make an appearance in our world. Created by artist, Kalapusa, a dedicated Mario fan, devotes his time and energy into making character’s from the imaginary world come alive in our own. The plant is made from a special mix of acrylics, clay, strengthened wire skeleton and stands about 3 feet tall. Check it out, wouldn’t you want one of those on your lawn to scare away neighbors?
