Although it looks like a keypad from your keyboard, it actually functions as a watch. You can tell time by simple pressing a button and it would show you the time by lighting up in a sequence. So if it 1-2-3-4 lights up it’s 12:34. Pretty neat huh? More »
OMEGA recently launched their Seamaster Planet Ocean Liquidmetal Limited Edition, revealing the world’s first ever liquidmetal watch. This device was created for those architects out there who just love to stare at their tools all day. The measuring tape watch concept has three criss crossing bands of yellow tape which create what looks like the face of a watch. The measuring tape is designed in different colors, the standard yellow and black, all black (which is by far my favorite), and blue with silver and white.
While this would not be one of the easiest watches to read time on, it is a great fashion statement for that architect deep within. After all, it is only a concept and could get smaller and more fashionable in later models. To see some of the other colors, check them out after the break. More »
Environmentalists are going to rejoice when they hear that the new Green Watch created by French group Fing, is being brought out to the public. This watch allows regular citizens to turn into walking sensors, sending out environmental stats. Big cities already use certain specified spots to monitor environmental conditions but there is no help when it comes to areas with no coverage.
Dubbed, La Montre Verta (The Green Watch), it amplifies noise and ozone levels so that the troubled spots could get some help. Earlier this year, a pilot program was run using this technology followed by a larger test last week at the Picnic ‘09 conference. More »

An interesting concept from Japanese designer Hironao Tsuboi is given no drama, no fanfare, and absolutely no face as the product website simply lists it as “LED Watch”. The faceless watch displays its digits via LEDs embedded into the strap, but it is not clear whether that portion of the watch is able to flex, although this writer reckons it probably can’t. More »
