It was recently reported (by Pocket Gamer) that Nintendo and Nokia had worked together on research and development for a proposed phone-console hybrid while Nintendo was doing early research for the DS, but it was rejected after being shown to the Nintendo board of directors. In other words, Nintendo’s board of directors prevented the company from producing what would most likely have been an unsuccessful product (re: Nokia’s N-Gage). More »

Probably just a case of new gadget hysteria, but Microsoft’s redesigned Xbox 360 is hot commodity. It was long overdue for a complete revamp. Sony came out with its cheaper to produce PS3 Slim eons ago, and aside from shrinking the graphics and CPU die on the Xbox motherboard, Microsoft had done nothing since now. More »

I have outlined my reasons for believing that both/either the Xbox 360 Kinect and/or Playstation Move are/is going to fail epically, yet some of the same arguments for failure can (paradoxically) be used to suggest that one or both will succeed. More »

Additionally, Sony is selling the PS3 console with the Move together for $399.99. More »

Fears of “Project Natal’s” high price turn out to be well founded. Ebworld is taking pre-orders for the Xbox 360 motion sensor add-on at $150, which is roughly twice the cost the Playstation Move! Microsoft has announced 15 launch titles, and at least five of them are full priced at $60 per pop. More »

A few nights before the grandest video games extravaganza (E3) on Earth commences, Microsoft has popped the cork early and unloaded “Project Natal,” now (sadly) named “Kinect,” for a press event. More »

A “trusted” EDGE “source” has tipped Microsoft’s Project Natal for an October 26th (give or take a few weeks) release with a price of $149 and $299 for an Xbox 360 Arcade bundle. More »

In a possible presentation with the American Heart Association, Nintendo could be holding an event on Monday to announce its Wii Vitality Sensor, which is an add-on device that attaches to the Wii-mote and monitors the player’s heart-rate. Nintendo showed the sensor last year and promoted it as a gadget that encourages casual play and tells gamers to slow down if the action becomes too intense. However, the sensor’s potential as exercise equipment is more compelling. More »
