Nowadays, nobody enjoys dealing with the hassle of connecting cables. Wireless devices are starting to be the norm, and Logitech has released some new audio accessories that fit the bill. More »

The idea is so simple and useful that I am perplexed as to why there are not more of them around: a compact wireless keyboard and mouse combo designed to work on your lap for couch typing/gaming/music listening/film viewing sessions. Phantom’s $130 Lapboard is literally an all-in-one KBM device whose full-size keyboard can swivel 360 degrees and be pulled up by 20 degrees, leaving the board underneath to act as a mousepad for the small laser mouse. In theory, the product is an HTPC dream, but does it work? More »

The rumors of the Verizon and Skype love affair were true! Starting next month, a handful of compatible smart phones on the Verizon Wireless network will be able to gain access to Skype software that will allow for unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls with a Verizon 3G plan. More »

Companies around the globe, such as Proteus Biomedical in California, are starting to develop new “pill technology” that will allow patients and doctors to monitor the ingestion and effects of medications. A sobering number for consumer electronics companies is 7.8, which is how many percentage points revenue dropped in 2009 from the previous year: from $179 billion to $165 billion. However, tech analysts are hopeful for some key products to emerge and bring sales back up. More »

If you haven’t ignored your television commercials lately, you’ve most likely come across Verizon ads that point out Apple’s lack of 3G coverage in parts of the US. Verizon even went as far as releasing an ad making fun of AT&T’s coverage crippling the iPhone (check it out after the break).
Well, AT&T didn’t sit back and take it. AT&T filed a lawsuit against Verizon for the “there’s a map for that” and then started new ads starring Luke Wilson, that are supposed to convince America that AT&T doesn’t have the shoddy coverage that Verizon claims. So, will it stop soon or will it continue till one of them gets fed up? With AT&T coming out with new ads, this may go on for some time. (check out the ads after the break) More »

CES 2009 bought many gadgets to the forefront of technological advancement but the one that made a big impression was the Powermat charger. The Powermat charger is one of the few devices that uses wireless electricity through induction with successful results.
The Powermat charger is a thin platform that charges your gadgets through the induction case that comes with it, no wires necessary. The mat itself costs $100 and the case comes for an extra $40 which is not a lot to pay, considering how much time and energy it will save you. The only downside to this is the limitation of devices so unless you own an iPhone, iPod Touch, Nintendo DS, or Blackberry, you have to buy a separate adapter in order for the Powermat to charge you gadgets. Last week London Telegraph reported that Deutsche Telekom was considering making a bid for Sprint Nextel. Sprint’s value has dwindled over the past few years with subscribers leaving in the thousands but a deal with Deutsch could bring together T-Mobile and Sprint Nextel to create the second biggest wireless carrier in the United States behind Verizon Wireless and ahead of AT&T wireless. There are some benefits if T-Mobile and Sprint Nextel were to combine but there are also some negative things to the deal as well. More »
